Primary Schools
A range of top quality sports equipment for Primary age children, centring on Mini Tennis, Mini Badminton, Multiskills and agility and coordination.
Primary School covers the age range for the LTA's Mini Tennis 'traffic light' coaching system.
Mini Tennis Red Stage is for players aged 8 and under, is played with slower and lower bouncing sponge or felt balls (75% slower than a full-pace tennis ball), on Mini Tennis Courts (11m x 5.5m). Orange Stage is aimed at children around age 8 or 9, with balls 50% slower than a full-pace tennis ball, court size 18m x 6.5m. Green Stage is aimed at players aged about 10 years old, on a full size court but with balls at 25% reduced pace.
Why slower balls? Reduced pace balls (and smaller courts) allow coaches to teach a full range of tennis skills while young players have control of the ball - and teachers may remember in the past an entire lesson being spent mostly picking up flying full-pace tennis balls. For this reason, it's wise not to worry too much about age ranges and move through the stages with beginners of all ages.

We've provided the Tennis Foundation's school equipment packs for many years now, and we're happy to advise, and to make up bespoke equipment packs, or quote for larger orders.
